About Kyneton Community House

The Kyneton Community House (Kyneton Community & Learning Centre Inc) is situated in Kyneton and is in the Macedon Ranges Shire. The House was established originally as Kyneton Community House in 1988 by a small group of community members, who recognised the need to accommodate opportunities for local groups and individuals, particularly isolated women, to meet together and participate in a range of activities. 2019 has seen us reclaim the original name in a deliberate return to the grass roots community principles of the original Neighbourhood Houses movement.

KCH is a not-for-profit community based organisation governed by a Committee of Management comprised of passionate local community members. Inclusivity for people of all abilities and from all walks of life is our top priority, we make space for all members of the community (individuals and groups) who wish to access and/or facilitate programs or services. Primarily then, it is a place that seeks to foster connectivity between people while providing a safe space for those feeling disenfranchised or disconnected.

Day to day management is provided by a small group of dedicated part-time staff and generous volunteers. We have a community childcare, a community garden and a weekly community lunch program, as well as Learn Local courses and a multitude of social activities, learning opportunities and groups. KCH operates within a community development framework and above all else strives to meet the needs of our wonderful community.
